Working with publishers of more than 56 languages, the Foreign Rights department represents a strong list of international bestselling and award-winning authors, including several titles that are being made into major motion pictures and require a strong global plan to support their endeavors.
We are committed to finding the right translation publisher for our titles and working with them far beyond the sale of the book — we work closely with publishers on publicity and marketing details and have a full-service approach to help our clients reach their international fans. Our goal is to ensure readers everywhere have the best opportunity to read our clients’ books. Our rights department attends major international book fairs every year to keep our network strong on a global scale.

New Leaf’s Film, Television, & Media Rights Department handles film and television rights for the company’s clients in a managerial capacity. Our team focuses on packaging and strategizing New Leaf’s books for adaptation from the ground-up — from the developmental stages; to the attachment of major value-added filmmakers, producers, writers, or on-camera talent; and finally, to the sale of our projects. In doing so, our Film, Television, and Media Rights Department seeks to cut through the fog of the nebulous sales and meaningless options generally delivered to authors, and instead, find a path to getting projects made with efficiency and high levels of quality. By maintaining a consistent eye towards quality, prestige, and textual fidelity, our Film, Television, & Media Rights Department often supervises our projects throughout the development and production processes in order to provide clients a hands-on role in the adaptation of their work. This experience and first-hand knowledge of sales and production provides New Leaf clients a leg up in the industry, as demonstrated by the nine New Leaf projects that have undergone filming in the last 36 months alone.
