Mindee Arnett writes fiction for young adults. Her debut series, The Nightmare Affair (Tor Teen, 2013) was nominated for the YALSA Top Ten and Best Fiction for Young Adults. Her science fiction duology, Avalon (B+B/HarperCollins, 2014), received starred reviews, was a School Library Journal Best Book of the Year as well as Indigo’s Best Teen Books of 2014. In addition, Avalon has been nominated for the Florida Teens Read List and the Eliot Rosewater Award. Her next series begins with the fantasy novel, Of Flame and Stone (B+B/HarperCollins), and will be released in 2018.
She has a Master of Arts in English literature with an emphasis in Creative Writing from Wright State University. She has a working background in both aircraft combat systems and database administration and security. She lives on a horse farm in Ohio with her husband, two kids, a couple of dogs, and an appropriate number of cats. When she’s not telling tales of magic, the supernatural, or outer space, she spends time riding horses and honing her first-person shooter gaming skills.
