Kate Sullivan

Associate Director of Content and Professional Development

Kate Sullivan is the Associate Director of Content and Professional Development for New Leaf Literary & Media. For 13 years, Kate worked in the editorial departments of three separate Big Five publishers, eventually becoming a senior editor. In her time at publishing houses she acquired and edited many award winners and best sellers, including The DUFF (Designated Ugly Fat Friend) by Kody Keplinger, The Finishing School series by Gail Carriger, Song for a Whale by Lynne Kelly, and Who Put This Song On? by Morgan Parker.

At New Leaf, she edits select manuscripts to help authors put their best foot forward on submission and to help publishers stay punctual, helps clients develop new storytelling ideas and directions, and advises New Leaf on publishing strategy, philosophy, and positioning. As a diplomat’s daughter and a middle child, she loves bridging the gap between two parties, and finds being an editor her true calling. Brainstorming creatively with authors to solve problems and move forward in exciting new ways is her favorite part of the job. She grew up in a diverse and accepting international community, and is dedicated to supporting authors with justice, equity, and an open mind.
