JJ Howard writes YA and middle grade books. An avid pantser-not–plotter, she eschews outlines, writes quickly, and has even won NaNoWriMo a few times. It’s rather appropriate–since she’s an English teacher–that her very first published novel began as homework for graduate school and eventually became That Time I Joined the Circus. She is, sadly, far too uncoordinated to swing from a trapeze IRL, or to tackle the parkour stunts featured in her second YA, Tracers. JJ’s middle grade books include Sit, Stay, Love, Pugs and Kisses, Pugs in a Blanket, The Love Pug, and Girls Just Wanna Have Pugs. JJ’s favorite part of writing is selecting the soundtrack for every book. Visit her at jjhowardbooks.com to trade playlists.
