Nevien Shaabneh was born in Jerusalem but raised in Chicago where she spent the majority of her childhood frequenting her local library. After graduating with a BA in English and an MA in Education, Nevien went on to teach English at a public high school in the south suburbs of Chicago.
Nevien is also a certified Diversity, Inclusion and Equity specialist. She travels the country and conducts workshops and presentations advocating and educating on equitable practices. As a lifelong learner and tireless advocate for understanding cultural diversity and helping protect the rights of minority groups, she is currently pursuing her PhD in Literacy, Language, and Culture.
Nevien is the author of the novel, Secrets Under the Olive Tree.
When Nevien is not writing, she can be found baking or submerged in a novel with a large cup of coffee in hand.
