Originally from the Midwest, Miranda is a graduate of the University of Evansville in Southern Indiana, where she studied creative writing and literature. After college, she worked in the tourism industry in Dublin and Belfast, immersing herself in the Irish arts and cultural scene before eventually settling in New York to work in publishing. Miranda comes to New Leaf from Penguin Random House, where she was an assistant at Penguin Workshop, helping to make books for ages 0–14. Beyond the publishing industry, Miranda’s favorite things include long conversations, Brooklyn coffee shops, and her 17-year-old cat, Isolde.
